The oil cooler on my 3.2 v6 has decided to rot and dump oil into the coolant system.
Also the block thermostat has always being a little sticky.
I've removed the oil cooler / thermostat / transfer pipe off my 3ltr last week.
Both are in great condition and proven.
Are both of these compatible with the 3.2 ?
Sadly, the gonads family are still on the bones of our arses so if I can use these then needs must.
Flushing the system ............... What the best thing out there to use ?
Can bio washing tablets be used to flush the crap out ?

I believe they are the same, :y and the forte brand is good to flush I used 1 can took it for a run then dropped it all and put warm water through it then added another bottle of forte took it up to temperature then dumped it all, followed by flushing with warm water :y that did the trick for me now it is nice and pink. :)
Just make sure you leave it over night before doing any flushing to let the cover plate sealer to set. :y :y

I think they are the same - although you really need someone with TIS to confirm - IMHO.
As far a cleaning out the mess is concerned, my understanding is that the rad is the most difficult & that needs to be done with the rad removed. I used a strong mix of low-suds bio powder left in the rad overnight - with the rad laid flat. The heater matrix also needs flushing - but you know that.
I suppose you could leave the cooling system drained overnight - but not a good time of year not to use anti-freeze, even overnight.
Look after your hands - get some rubber gloves to avoid sores .....

If it's drained, it doesn't matter how cold it is over night .... there's nothing in there to freeze & expand ;) ;)

If it's drained, it doesn't matter how cold it is over night .... there's nothing in there to freeze & expand ;) ;)
If the water pump hasn't been removed then the block hasn't been drained. The heater matrix isn't self draining either.

I used a friends oil removing sucking pump I fed the tube down the hole that leads to the water pump at the front of the cooler reccess, it got most of it out the engine :y :y Also leaving it to drain does help but really don't get rid of much from rad :( unfortunately its just good flushing. ;)

Semantically correct perhaps but that wouldn't be much consolation to the OP if they were not aware that draining the radiator still leaves 5 litres in the block and heater matrix..........

It didn't take me long to work out how much was left in the block after the drain tap was opened ...... and that was years before OOF. 8)

For the record lads, the rad will be pulled and left flat over night full of fernox along with the heater matrix then flushed through with the hose pipe the next day :)
Tip for the day ............. if your matrix is bunged up and you have a aqua vac (and the missus is not looking), fill with fernox over night.
Next morning plug one end of the matrix and tape the aqua vac to the other end.
Switch the vac on and after a couple of seconds remove the bug off the other end and watch all the crap and crud fly out of the matrix :y
Don't forget to clean the aqua vac before you next clean the carpets because i'm not responsible for the kicking you will get off your missus if you don't :-X :-X :D :D :D

1. The heater matrix hasn't collapsed in the process.
2. Your missus has suddenly lost the ability to read or use a computer, lest you spend New Years Eve in A+E
