Hi
After doing a bit of browsing around the forum, getting to know possible future problems, I noticed several instances where resets were required on electrical items, for example:
Windows, one click closing: Close window and hold switch until you hear the relay click.
Sun roof positions resets: Push button on fully open, fully up, and I think, when shut
Aircon recirculation flap (this one totally solved my steaming up problem): Switch on and off. The ECU then knows where it is.
It would be interesting to know, what else to check after a battery disconnect / reconnect.

And CD code in some cases ;)

In some cases, after a long power cut; reprogramming the ECC via Tech-2 might be needed other than holding the OFF and AUTO buttons simultaneously... ;)
After an all day long replacement of my heater matrix, we have seen that the driver side temperature wouldn't control the passanger side. :o
It was OK after reprogrammed via Tech-2... :y

Tell me more about the steaming up, please - mine seems to have started doing that and I suspected that the drainage pipe was blocked - cleared it, but still steaming.

Expert mates could answer in details but, in my opinion, seems servo motor problem. :( There should be a topic in here showing how to replace the arms of the motors..):D
Did you give it a try by pressing the defroster button to clear the windshield's steam inside? :-\ Of course, it is expected that the fan would blow intensively to the windscreen to demist. If it behaves like that, there should be a problem with AUTO mode which leads us search different remedies. If not, we can say that servo or flap arm problems in there...
There is a topic address below so that you can check and get an idea...

Good luck...

Thanks for your very useful answer. My aircon doesn't work (radiator leak), so I can't use the dehumidifying aspect of that, can I?
Before delving into the glove box, etc., I ought to do the basics, like checking pollen filter!

The recirculation reset is, with the ignition on II, just turn on, wait a few seconds and then off. This tells the ECU where the flap is. If you listen you should be able to hear the flap operating. Also try turning on the demist boost and then, when you switch on and off the recirculation button, you should be able to hear the airflow change up to the window. This is when I discovered what the problem was. So for demist, make sure recirculation is off, and switch on the demist. Mine seems to work even before the aircon chills down, also the aircon doesn't operate below 5 deg. but it still demists.
Thank to all who have responded so far.
