Got one of my Sons back from Uni this weekend and were trying to hook up a Nokia E7 to the TV for viewing some films and photos.
Theres a HDMI port on the phone but no HDMI telly where we are at the moment, so trying to get the old fashion RGB or Scart to work without much success, anyone done this before?

Thanks for the link, not sure if I need though, doing some googling the late Nokia's have HDMI and RGB out.
The bit I dont understand or work out is how to get RGB out of the HDMI digital port?, nothing in the Please read the manual.

You won't get RGB from the HDMI port, RGB is an analogue signal and the HDMI port is a digital interface so your only option is something like the link from MM

Sometimes the 3.5 headphone jack also does av aswell.

Got plently of Scart / RGB phono leads kicking around,so should be able to make one up, just need the 3.5mm plug, so off to Maplins, just down the road. ;)

Sometimes the 3.5 headphone jack also does av aswell.

No need for Maplins just found an old Hands Free Ear Phone lead with a 4 pin 3.5mm on the end, just need to find 'Sidney the Soldering Iron' now. ::)

Just re read it, fairly sure I saw half way down that Mic Pin (or one of the Audio Channels) doubles up as a Video Out, maybe it was a different sheet I was reading!
Think Ive been thrown off course a bit by the tinternet, tlaks about RGB Out, reckon if the Mic input is the one then I should be looking for Composite Video rather than RGB.

Under the pin out table towards the bottom, Pin 3 used for Mic and Video.
Anyway made up the lead as per the pin outs, when I plug in the to the mobile the phones screen goes blank for a second of 2, get Audio and a black screen on the TV at the same time, then nothing followed by a Headphone symbol coming up on the phone.?

True, well not the whole day, a couple of hours maybe, hate being defeated by simple things though. Anyway its more for my Boy than anyone else, got he's mates comomground and wants to show off he's Uni videos and pics. ;)

Only for the N95 and N900.

It strikes me that a TV that's old enough not to have HDMI inputs probably won't have enough resolution for it to be worth bothering converting the video. :-\
