Well the day has come that I am no longer able to drive my meega to work.
Why...? Because it's tucked up safe in my garage - so safe I can't get in!!!!! >:(
The up and over door is electronic with a switch inside the garage, and on a remote in the car, also in the garage, and the internal door lock has jammed and refuses to budge.
Trouble is it's a fire door and I can't remove the hinges or force it open.
So it's the bus for me, via B&Q for a big hammer - cos all my tools are in the garage too!
>:( >:( >:(

That's unlucky, ours came with a 2nd remote.
-
If only you garage door was like your car......... MANUAL :-?

If only mine did - cos then I could get it out of the wife's car (which of course lives outside)
Gonna try some more brute force and ignorance - might not work but it'll make me feel better.

Bad news man, does the door open into the garage, or towards you as you open it?. Is it a a steel frame door surround or wood. Is it ona mortice or just a night latch.
1. If you have just a night latch locking the door, just drill the cylinder out of the lock, by a new cylcinder job done. Given your tools are in your garage, obvioulsy you have to borrow some.
2. If the lock has only a mortice and assuming the door frame is wooden, and the door opens away from the garage, you would potentially have to vut a section of the frame out, ideally with wood chisels, agains job done, then just splice a section of wood back into the frame. However, if the door opens into the garage which I would doubt, remove the beading and do the same as mentioned above.
Hope the above help you out mate, pity I did'nt live round the corner, would've got it open for you :y Good luck ;)

How did you get on Chopsdad?
-
I went to bed.
I got up.
I tried the door (just for fun)
It opened!
Bloody cat must have had hold of the inside handle or the fairies fixed it. Either way no bus for me hooray! - even though the bus stop is at the end of the street.
So the moral of the story is... bring the remote in everynight in case it locks again and get a spare one! :y
