What is the "normal" usage of oil for a 2.6? As the "check oil" , has come up twice since last April, and there are deff no leaks, as the car park shows not one drop of oil on it
thanks in advance :)

What year is the 2.6? Early ones do suffer from poor stem steals, which result in high oil use later on.
Any blue smoke on start up?
-
How many miles on the car?
How many miles since last service?
-
My 2.6 doesn't use any. My old 2.5 was just as good. Although I change the oil every 3-4000 miles and never noticed a dip in the level.

Its a 2002 V6, and there is no "blue" smoke on starting, and has a fully stamped up book until last april @ 60 K, due a service now tho @71 K

Ohh dear, not Vx service history is it? ::) ;D ;D
Worth looking at cleaning the breathers. If you are handy with the spanners its a very simply job. :y

A litre every 10k wouldn't be unreasonable imho :-\

yes, its a vx service and book (cambelt was done at 43K tho ;-) )
obviously I bought it from a non Vx dealer, and was in excellent nick, bit muddy now, as its winter, and drive to work at a farm ;D

Do you not check level on the dipstick?

What year was the cambelt done? Try and oil and filter change then monitor weekly. Vx genuine 10w40.
