Some hit-and-run lunatic hit my son's parked Ka so hard it has bent a wheel and the steering knuckle. He has sourced a replacement knuckle. Has anyone experience of changing these? Any special tools required?
We hope to do it in my garage this weekend. :y

Althoguh you can get considerably more force by pulling upwards on the end of a breaker bar than even a heavy person stood on one. :y

I forgot to mention that son took the limping Ka to a garage near him for an assessment, and they decided it needed a ramp to check, so they phoned Imperial Tyres Swindon, who do alignments, who agreed to look at it. After son very courageously limped across town for the inspection, they put it on the ramp and identified the damaged knuckle, and managed to straighten it out somewhat. The point of this post is they did about 45 minutes of work and did not charge a penny, which, in these days, is above and beyond, so many thanks to Imperial Tyres for helping out. :y :y :y

Great stuff mate! You are spot on: in this day and age no one does something for nowt...especially 45 minutes' work!
Does it drive perfectly now then? :y

Unfortunately not, although it is now driveable. It still requires a knuckle change, son has one coming from the Bay for £21.60! How good it is remains to be seen, but it will be better than the one it replaces. :y :y :y

Pass. I haven't yet seen the car or what has been ordered. I'm assuming son has ordered what is needed, but this may not be the case. ::) :y
