Depends entirely on your phone line. Ours was way to knackered and intermitant, so we went to, of all places, Virgin media ;)

Can't fault them so far, in our case. :o

My daughter has been with them for years - seems ok service wise even if a little expensive.

I had them at the flat in Ealing, can't fault them really. Internet was super fast, I had 30Mb cable service. TiVo box is a bit poor, but apart from that quite good.

Slow internet, suspect you are on their ADSL?
Picture issues? That will be signal issues, it's not been set up right.

I do, and for BT Vision.  Cannot fault them, having been able yet again to improve my package with them whilst keeping to the same costs.  :y :y :y

Have their Fibre optic since last month, very fast and reliable so far.  The WiFi on the router was shocking but I have my own AP for that which runs like a dream :y

I'm a fibre optic customer and was expecting  "up to 30mb" which is normally less than 5mb ! engineer from them installed and set up the TiVo box and we still get a poor picture on a brand new Toshiba TV , every time I ring them I get the usual " unplug it at the wall " routine  , not exactly high tech in this day and age !!

Ask to be put through to the escalation team  - but do you have any internal wiring complications that might be influencing situation. If not then get them to attend, speak to managers etc etc

Must say we've been Virgin customers since the late 90s and never had any issues with picture/house phone/internet.We've never used their mobile phone service though as we're both on PAYG.

As a side note, if that's a superhub 1, apparently superhub 2 is now standard issue, going by posts from Andyroid, on Bigriffins thread re wireless routers. Might be worth a call, as it gives dual band 2.4 and 5.0 ghz networks. If that helps. :)

Am with them and always sorted problems out very quickly only have snail service here as on the end of the exchange 5 miles away, and copper wires that Noah layed  ;D  :o which is openreach (as they call themselves now) BT won't change to fibre.  >:( >:(

Oh and another thing that really gets my goat is all the OPENREACH vans have "superfast braodband with optic fibre" written on the side when they are doing any work in the area.  :o ::) >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Oooohohoooo Ntl. What pain those three letters cause me. Ever seen the Nthell web site? No idea if its still going. But started by jilted Ntl customers to help current customers through Ntl customer service or complete lack of. Utterly utterly hopeless company. Ok as far as service went, until they had to sort out a problem. Then it fell flat on its arris.

One if the main reasons I held off going to Virgin was to give them time to sort themselves out from the days of NtHell. God alive they were dire.

I suppose any organisation will have its horror story's. For every 10 good report there's at least 1 that's bad, with every bad report counting times 10. But can only speak as I find. :)

used to work for them, apart from the odd fault which is not unexpected, not had any issues I also have the superhub 2 which is better than 1.
If you are getting faults call them when you get the drop outs, sounds like the signals have not been balanced correctly

I have used Virgin Broadband for a few years, never a problem I get nearly 60mbit. :y :y

TV is Freeview so I can't comment on the TIVO stuff but a phone line is a phone line. ;D

As an aside I get hacked off at having to pay a line rental whether I have a land line or not, the old BT line has been removed, and I could just use a mobile. :(

Odd, thats one of the reasons I liked them is I did not have to pay line rental. I paid for a internet connection (cable) and TV pack only. They would call me ever 3 months or so saying about these great deals for phone lines. But I kept stating, unless you pay me for a line, you are not going to beat what I get! (free phone/calls through work mobile)

Our monthly rental for TV and BB comes in at £2 per month LESS than if we didn't take the phone line, not too sure how that works but hey ho.
