Title: Central heating - room stat and boiler control

Anyone used one of these. Have been weighing up wired v wireless and decided to stick with wired I think.

I appreciate you cannot control hot water from this as well.

Works fine.....replaced the batteries once.

Installing it was a lot easier than trying to run a cable (unseen)

Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 13 January 2014, 11:23:07: Just replaced mine before xmas, opted for a CM901 Honeywell unit as it had individual settings per day, multiple heat times per day (3) and also supports intelligent switching so it learns the heating time for the house and ensures the desired temperature is reached at the time set (means you can program the time easier rather than having to guess how long it takes to warm up plus it adjusts the start time based on the difference between off ambient and on required temp which improves the economy slightly).

They do a wireless variant as well.

Very good but more expensive than most, mine repalced a Drayton which was about 6 years old and had decided turn the heating on when and if it felt like it.

Snap! I went for the Honeywell CM907 - not sure how that compares with the 901 though, I'm not sure that mine has the intelligent learning that yours has.

Just checked and actually mine is the 907 (the 901 can only be programmed for one series of time cycles for the whole week and not daily)

I'm only using mine in simple stat mode at the moment. Old stat was doing some strange things so changed it for this one, yes could have got a cheaper one - but this was all part of the plan ........
