I like the look of this but can't find a price. http://www.cartaruk.com/products.html

Trouble is, lift will be in the way for all key jobs like ATF, exhaust ect :-\
-
Trouble is, I can't really justify a fourpost lift. Has anyone on here experience of useful DIY lifts to take an Omega?

How about one of these in sixth picture down? Cost about £50 and doubles as garden seating if you put a table in the middle.!

I like that. Any foundations needed?
-
Might look a bit odd in Shaks drive though. ;D
-
Micheldever have loads of these type things, dug into the floor.

Won't be cheap though. :(

Probably safer to lay a pad of concrete on some rammed hard core. I put 15 cm spacing wire rod mesh in mine.
-
Also works for MX5s, IIRC - or was it at the place in Murcia that I had to cable tie the undertray on? Can't remember. :-\
Suppose I should effect a permanent repair sometime. ;D

I know someone that's got one of these, he uses it most weeks...

have one of those in my workshop
take up to 2.7 ton
you wont replace ATF or exhausts on RWD as area is limited
but for servicing and other repair do the job,

I like that but the 2.7T capacity makes it very close to the kerb weight of Kitty :-\

Always liked the idea of these but they're a bit pricey http://www.smartgarageequipment.co.uk/1_post_lifts_home.html

£1650+vat for a four ton two post lift is pretty impressive, especially as that's delivered and installed 8)
I wonder if they're weather proof :-\

I have the quote for the Autolift 3000. Looks very reasonable although I wont be able to get one for a few months yet :-[

1st link seems a bit odd IMHO ... Autolift 3000 without the drill is MORE than it with the drill !!! (top 2 rows of the quote !) :)
-
I did see that, probably a typo but it's an official quote so...... ::)
Oh and Tax needs to be added as well :y

Top right? I think that is damage caused by pressure on the panel rather than from the lift... :-\
-
I would get two... one for each end :-\ really didn't like the lack of control when the chap tipped the car forward and back in the video... it came down quickly enough to do some damage... :-\
How strong is it laterally? If you're swinging on a front wishbone bolt, what's to stop it collapsing sideways, on your head :-\
Devils advocate and all... :y
-
Personally I wouldn't use it to tip kitty over from front to back. Rather lift one end up at a time. You dont f $#@ about when lifting 2.4 tonnes.

Quite :y a tenth of that is enough to ruin your day...
-
My feeling is that it may work OK for lifting each end in turn, then fitting stands. Just an expensive, but easy to use, jack, really. I would not like to use it on the sills. :-\
