X84GNB 2000 petrol 2.5 manual estate
Am changing the clutch. Prior to removing gearbox JamesV6CDX's guide states 'undo the clip that holds the hydraulic pipe to the clutch cylinder, and separate'.
I think I have found the clutch master cylinder, behind the vacuum servo unit. Does the clip unscrew? How do I undo it?

You need a very small screwdriver and some patience :y

Is it not possible to remove it at the gearbox end? Not familiar with the omeg setup but removing at the master is going to leave a bit of pipe to manage as you drop the Gbox.

You can remove it at the bellhousing with cutters ::)
As James said, unclips from the left hand side of the Master, on bulkhead between hbv and brake servo. Try pushing the clip with left hand whilst pulling the flexi pipe towards the pollen filter.
Ideally it needs to be disconnected before you drop the box, otherwise you strain/bend the pipe from the master :y

Thank you gentlemen. I will try again tomorrow.

Still struggling. What's wrong with me? Clutch changing is a regular service operation. Vx must have designed it to be easy, that's why it's not a standard screw connection. I reckon you are right Al. If I push the clip down it will release. Challenge is pushing it down. I guess I must remove the scuttle. Will report back.

Thanks James. After removing scuttle and scuttle support bracket I could see the clip. I could not push the clip down, but with small screwdriver and much patience I prised the clip out and then pulled the pipe out. Phew.
