Title: REVERSING LIGHTS
Post by: Porks on 16 January 2014, 17:30:44
Can anyone help?
My reversing lights have stopped working on my 2.2 CDX manual gearbox.
The bulbs are fine.
What should I check next? Is it likely to be the gearbox switch?
Many thanks, Porks

reverse light switch on the gearbox or a break in the wiring on the boot hinge

Switches are pretty reliable, so would start with the wiring around the boot hinges as Andy suggests :y
If that checks out, then look at the switch...

Take it you've checked the fuse :-\

Should have mentioned it earlier.....it is not the fuse.
Thanks for the great advice.........on looking at the boot hinge the wiring has lost it's outside protective cover at the point where it flexes.
The problem must lie within........should not be too difficult to replace the broken section.
Once again, many thanks Andy & Taxi Lord.

There should be a plug somewhere just under the parcel shelf or in the inner wing where the loom connects to the car... might help give you better access to the loom if you unplug it and unclip it, rather than trying ti fix it in situ :y
