Title: New drivers door lock.

I've just bought a replacement lock and key as the original is kaput,can anyone give any pointers as to how to do the job as I've scanned through the help sections but can't seem to see any thing that covers it. :-\

Its one stage further than the central locking replacement guide, I believe.

Follow that to the point the door Handel can be removed. Which isn't covered iirc. Its two 10mm nuts. From memory.

I presume the lock can be removed from there.

Spot on  :y lock comes out on plate released by nuts. Watch out handle comes loose as well

Yep, follow the guide for the solenoid then undo the 3 torx bolts on the slam panel of the door along with the 2 nuts holding the door handle in position.
The rods are held in place on the lock mechanism with little plastic lugs which just push of and pivot out of the way. The rods then uncouple from the lock.
It's just bloody awkward more than anything else :y

I'd be transferring the barrel from the old lock to the new to retain the original key ie one key for the car  ;)
