I have a problem with my heater blower on my 2002 Omega 2.2 16V DTi CDX Estate

It was the scuttle drain at fault, I replaced the heater resistor or hedgehog following this topic:
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90661.0
Unfortunately for me being a novice when it comes to car repair as soon as I plugged the resistor back into the wiring loom, the fan immediately came on and stays on all of the time. I think I may have dislodged a connection as I put the resistor back in as it is very awkward to fit. I have reset the Climate Control, disconnected battery, fuzes etc but still no joy.
Does anyone think they may be able to help me getting the blower to work properly again?
