Will the internet browser open up from your disk?
if it will just add to favourites from the browsers menu.

Apart from that not sure.

On your XP disk they would have been in:

c:\Documents and Settings\(user name e.g. Administrator)\Favorites

(it's the U.S. spelling i.e. Favorites)

Alternatively, run a search for .url files on the backup CD.

But keep in mind that the Favorits folder may have not been backed-up to the CD - you would have to select to when doing the backup.

You need to find where your new installation of Windows has put the new favourites folder (this may depend on whether you've set up the system for multiple users, etc) and then simply copy the contents of your old favourites folder into it.

I always store my data on a separate partition from the operating system (i.e. D: drive instead of C: drive) so unfortunately my favourites folder isn't in the official location for a single user setup and I am unable to advise where it normally sits.
