Hi all
I bought.an omega estate 2.2 16v auto about a week ago,and the guy (old guy) who.had it had a con filter on it,after a few long drives and flooring it in soprts mode the rev needle jumps up and the car has lag,is this caused by the filter?
-
Had a 2.2 like that round here once. Plugs where arcing. Fine at low revs pootling about, but press the throttle and it cut the power like an off switch.
New plugs fixed it, but see what others say.

Rev counter wouldn't go up though?

When you say the car has lag, does the engine speed increase as the rev counter rises? In other words, is the gearbox slipping?
-
Rev counter jumps up really fast but the wheels dont grip then it setlles and takes of
-
Gearbox slipping :-\ the cone filter really won't help matters though...

Ok just had car in perrys vauxhall its,not plugs or gearbox they said pop back if it.continues

If the revs go up with the rev counter, and it's not clutch slip, then the car should be accelerating, yet your description implies it dies on power?
Did Perry's read engine codes? Any fault codes?

Ok, I'll shut up. ;D

;D just because it's Saturday all week ::)
-
No fault codes...its all very odd
-
Check the ATF level ... an auto with low fluid gives the impression of "clutch slip" as there is not enough fluid pick up to make it work as advertised ... :)

How/were do.u check.it ?

So finally got it sorted ,went on a run with vauxhall technician and his fancy laptop, firstly the car was left 24hrs with battery disconnected and time for ecu to reset, once car was warm it was taking in too much air and the ecu couldnt cope with it,fueling was all over the place and the lambda sensors went mental,so I bought standard air box reset ecu and now alls well ....simply induction kits on autos are a bad and costly thing.
