Title: Tin worm!

While sorting out some rusty brake pipes, I found this hiding under the body seal in the NS inner rear wing! It will, I think, require a plate welding in, as it is almost through to the inside. Is this a common rust area?

I Had to repair mine in the same place  but mine was a lot worse  and my old one was the same .  I'd say it was a common area to go.   Check under the cover at the end of the sill too!

Yep under the rear sill cover is very common, both mine and my dad's are going there and I believe linked to that very same issue??

From the pic I would say yes as its within 30cm of the spring mount.  When you clean it I can almost guarantee it will go through.
Also remove the side bolster and check the floor by the seat belt mount as it spreads a lot further than it looks..
