Title: Sexist avatar labels
Post by: MartinP on 01 June 2008, 02:15:18
Just read this post;

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1212266924/0

With Marie being a "Knight" and Debs Being a "Baron"

Can you not link the post count label to the gender info as well as the counter and use appropriate labels?

Small point but may be appreciated by the fairer sex.

( the ladies may not mind either)  :)

This has been raised before, I think there's a problem with the software.

As AA points out, the software, where it works it out, cannot deal with gender in its current form.

TBH, I do not see it as a major issue on a heavily male oriented forum  :-/

If any of the ladies do have a real serious issue with it, I will look in to recoding that section.

Let me know what you think?

OK.

Didn't realise it had come up already. I mention it as I had read the linked post.

It`d be 'nice' to have one`s gender identified, but hardly something I`d lose sleep over; and as observed it`s predominantly a 'blokey-bloke' forum, and in view of the recoding-work necessary to permit such a small change I have few issues about it not happening. ;)

I`ll try not to cry for too long........ ;D
