What started as a pleasant trip to the countryside to start fixing my ex-plod, ended up with me littering the countryside with bits of an unspecified non-Omega. Thanks to a lovely dieselly stream cascading over an icy road. Ended up going from "little bit of opposite lock needed" to "perpendicular to the direction of travel and landing in the scenery"*.
But thanks to Mr and Mrs 2woody, I had a mini break in Northumberland, lots of tea to settle my nerves, and ended up bringing another Omega home instead, pics to follow soon. Really don't have the words to say how much I appreciate it (and Mrs GK too...). So thank you :y :D
*for once I wasn't driving like a maniac either, I think the law of averages (or average speed...) caught up with me

Early Sunday morning in the middle of rural Northumberland, had I been going up a half hour later it would have been thawed out... I slipped over when I got out of the car... ::)

It's been cold enough between hurricanes :y
Hopefully not too shaken up :-\

Very sorry to hear that. I was talking to a colleague today who got caught out by ice a week or so back and wrote off his car.
Hospitality at chez 2woody is indeed second to none, though. :y
