Nah, I took a chance on a pair of Jinyu's last year because I was on the bones of my arse  ::)

Now there nicely scrubbed  :-X
There not to bad in the dry but bloody scary coming off a roundabout in the wet and believe me, I do like to play when the roads are quite and i'm on my own  ;)

If that's all you can afford, give them a try and report back once scrubbed in on here  :y

I was given a kenda tyre for nothing and looks brand new and don't want to sling it away if no good... I will source another one and fit them..

Most budget tyres have "OK" grip in the dry, but tend to very unpredicatable in the wet. There are one or 2 midrange tyres that do work reasonably well under all normal UK conditions, and its worth spending just a little extra for these, even if the budget is really tight.

Ran my old 2l with 15in wheels on budgets with no probs at all. Does the fact that my Desmond has 16in make
a difference? any advice will help. Tyres at moment are Michelin.

Not to grip (well, maybe very slightly due to stiffer sidewalls).

I used to put Nankangs NS2's on my omega......bloody good value at £55 per corner fitted and never had a problem with grip.....and lasted into the 20- 25k miles  :y
