I'll get one but only flaw is you live over 100 miles away from me and I think most electric cars won't do more than 100 miles ;D

I have had 102 miles out of one charge but I had to drive so carefully it was exhausting :D

I currently lock mine but I am considering allowing public access in emergencies for a small fee of about £3.  Once the house is automated I have thought about triggering the on switch from a paypal payment whether I am in the house or not :y

I have informed the management...

What management does with the information however, I cannot say ::)

Once you've automated your place you can come and do mine  :y

I applied (what the heck), but reading the T&C I'm pretty sure they'd take one look at my (1970s) consumer unit (for which you can no longer buy breakers) and declare it needs a grands worth of work before they could connect it.. still, let's see.

The cynic in me wants to know where the catch is (ditto for free loft/cavity insulation!).

This was parked outside the other day...

And I notice you guys are hiring.. or were last time I looked (the other day months ago .. er, just in case my boss is reading ;D).

Not sure I could live with a commute from here to there, though, by road or rail.. it's bad enough doing the 12 miles between Bracknell & Chertsey, let alone going all the way in to the smoke  :-\

My commute would be similar ish compared to you? I did the return journey in 50 mins yesterday afternoon. (although did leave at 4:30)

Morning its about 1hr10 ish currently, but I see a few short cuts I intend to try. Also looking to try the GS, think that should be around ~45mins regardless, going up A30.

Sky is always recruiting  :y

Good time to join, just kicked off a massive building program. Our new 'super building' will be for about 3k employee's, have studios, football pitchs, tennis courts, restaurants and a swimming pool  :D

Thank you for your most recent enquiry to Brill Energy regarding Solar PV installation, unfortunately on this occasion your PostCode area falls outside our area of operation.

Not that my enquiry was about Solar PV, but...

Full electric cars are cool in my opinion, even the leaf. I did recently watch a documentary on the history of electric cars recently though which may have influenced my opinion.

Have you worked out how much it costs to do a full charge at home?

I like it, it's nippy and cheap to run.  I haven't worked out the exact cost of a charge yet but it's about £2 from which I get between 60-90 miles. 8)

It's a shame they only do 16A sockets. If they did a 32A one, I'd be interested.. And I'd inform them that the best location would be just by my workbench.... where I boil my home brew park my Leaf.  ::)

So, for a smallish car, that would cost around £10 in petrol or £7 in diesel.
How much per month is the battery rental?

Surely the batteries are included in the purchase price. Therefore my question would be......how much to replace the batteries and how long do they last?

The batteries are rented if you need them to be or, as Matt said, you can purchase. Either way, a price consideration.

Just had a look at the Nissan site. From £70 a month.
I only use about £90 a month in fuel.

I'm guessing that new batteries cost well into four figures.........and as for their longevity, I have no idea.

That's because everyone you know has died of extreme old age. :) Hence, no need to visit. :)

Yeah, better to rent them, as that is cheaper than purchasing then buying more later when the current ones get feked.

5 year warranty on the battery.  8)

Works out about the same cost wise for renting and purchasing (effect on the credit) but it makes a big difference to the resale value.

Do you still get a grant towards the cost of the car?

Yes but the advertised price reflects the government £5k grant.
