I am in the process of stripping my omega for a media blast and painting
But above the bonnet release pull I found a 8 prong plug meaty plug wrapped in cardboard looks like factory as well as it has cable wrap tape on it as well
Anyone any ideas?

That doesnt look oe to me,trace the loom and see where it goes.
-
its definitely part of the loom its wrapped in the same tape all the other wires are wrapped in. its not cut and joined anywhere. it was just stuck behind bonnet release plate behind kick panel
-
Possibles are...
Either audio wiring for summat Bose or Boot changer related or phone connection possibly :-\
Also in that area are alarm and slushbox ecu... :y
-
wasn't plugged into auto box ecu or alarm module. bazaar one. anyone else got the same?
-
it looks a bit like the plug for the dim-dip control box
-
shouldn't it be connected if its for dim-dip lights?
-
Park pilot loom?
-
Doesn`t look like audio connections to me (http://www.dndservices.co.uk/smiley/undecided1.gif)

park pilot loom? what does that do? any pics of the park-pilot unit??

All the connections for that are in the boot/nearside wheel arch area :y
None of the plugs look like the OPs either :-\

there are 2 looms for park pilot - maybe a photo on here somewhere but 'twas ages ago.

Ah, ok :y I only have the rear kit, but it stands to reason that the front one, where optioned would plug in somewhere :y

No just talking rear on mine but there are 2 looms. There will be a part no. and drawing on the vx disc (the name of which escapes me as I am err. out of office) to compare it with.
