It is an AR25, and oil cooler is probably integral to the radiator :-\

An extra oil cooler is decidedly worth fitting, but where?
I had a Kenlowe unit on my old Carlton and was going to fit it to my previous 2.5 auto, but there was no room, and even less so on my present 2.6 auto with aircon! No available space in the airstream to fit it and I no longer tow my caravan, so I didn't try too hard to fit it anyway.
Maybe other caravanners can help you find a suitable space?
Um, I've just read which Omega you have - there should be lots of room there. I used extra pipes from the Kenlowe unit so that the ATF didn't use the pipe in the bottom of the radiator but served the cooler alone and used some spare pipe to blank off the radiator connections, but I doubt if that was necessary.

I had a 2.5 with the AR25 box and no extra cooler, it worked absolutely fine, including towing a 1400Kg 'van down to the Arcachon Basin (SW France) in August. I now tow with the 3.2 with the AR35  and that has taken a 1600Kg van down to the Tarn Gorge (S France) with no extra cooler and also without any problems whatsoever,

Omegas are essentially excellent towcars, especially in auto form .. :)

If fitted, it'll be in the side of the rad. If still unsure Cpt Zok or I could look for you.  :y :y

Ar 25 as fitted to the 2.5 and 2.6 copes fine towing on those more powerfull engines.

Oil cooler in rad as Al says. Follow the oil pipes near steering box, forward along the drivers chassis rail next to pas pipes, to rad.

It will be fine if its got standard cooler ,  a 2.0 bit underpowered true but as long as the vans MTPLM is,nt above 1200Kg wont put to much strain on box look here http://www.whattowcar.com/ might  help

He did have a 2.2 but the head gasket went so he sold that and bought the 2.0. The van they tow is only a little 2 berth so I would have thought it would be fine I will have a look for the oil cooler next time im over there, he has plenty of time to get one fitted should he want too
Thanks very much for the info

Confirming what Mr Entwood was saying, I have towed with a 2.5 ar25 and 2x 3.2 with ar35's and never needed an extra oil cooler whilst towing our 5 birth van :y

I have the 2.2 auto and have towed a far larger van "4 berth series 5 Bailey pageant bordeaux" 23ft, for the last seven years without an extra cooler, and still going with no problems.
