Oh, I can remember, but that is a very personal question and I think the chap concerned would be must insulted if I described it as being only 7 inches! :o :o :o :o :o
As for records, well Lady Madonna by the Beatles in '67' was one of the first purchased. :y :y :y

Oh yes, I used to wait for that to come on the radio on a Saturday morning during a regular programme that played the latest records "My Car Went Beep Beep Beep", "My Heart Goes Boom diddi Boom" (Sophia Loren and Peter Sellers), and "Little Doggie In The Window" were also amongst those songs that were my favourites :-* :-* :y :y

They don't appear to be able to handle the little silver 5" ones without damaging them, so they're certainly not going anywhere near my 12"s. ::)

I distinctly remember buying the 'The no heroes' album by The Stranglers in 1977. Far better than the sugary crap the youth of today listen to. :-\
My favourite track was called 'Bring on the nubiles'....... they certainly wouldn't give it airtime today. ;D ;D
-
'Something better change' also got the juices of this 17 year old flowing. ;)
-
I also bought this in 1978. At the time I was unaware that Tom Robinson 'batted' for the other side. ;D ;D
PLEASE NOTE. This song is far from politically correct by the standards of today, and may offend some. :)

Don't recall buying any 7" singles, although I had a few hand-me-downs as a kid.
First 12" LP was Dire Straits "Love over gold", if memory serves.
I did come across a 12" single of Axel-F too.. Anyway, moving swiftly on.. :-[
