Title: Orginal fitted sc804 some Problems
Post by: omegabdenmark on 11 March 2014, 08:57:04
Hi All

I Have some problems with the orginal fitted Sc 804 HU in my MV6, some times it stops working, and the only way to get it working again, is to unmount the radio and put it back in, is there any other who have the same problem.

The other problem wit it is that there is only light around the volume/on - off botton is it possible to get light in the other bottons all the other dashlight works fine.

hope to get some help

Best Regards

Jannik

My suspicions are that it may not be seating correctly into the cage and the rear plugs

This wont be any help, but i had exactly the same problem with the same stereo in my omega. It was paired with a cd changer. Dc12(?) if i remember correctly. I gave up and changed the HU for a new pioneer unit. Got an adapter so the cars display still shows the radio info. Changed the speakers for new pioneer speakers while i was at it. The improvement in sound was vast:)

Not sure what they fitted in Denmark, but the last time I had an Issue with an SC804 was on a PF CDX and found it had a separate Phillips Amp attached to it that was causing issues?

Didn't sound half bad either, from memory.

Those Philips DAP series amps were actually quite good for their time  :y

Yep, have to agree with that, sounded a very clean sound, no sub bass but gave a overall good balanced noise, reckon with some decent speakers attacthed to it would have put the Bose fitments on the Omegas to shame.

Most euro MV6 were roughly the same as our Elites in the UK, so likely it would have the amp :y

Just out of curiosity, where does this amp live? Removed a sc804 and a dc12 cd changer from my 95 Opel omega mv6 a couple of years back. Never saw any amp. Norwegian car.

IIRC, just in front of spare wheel, behind the metal panel, on saloons.  Amp wasn't fitted to Estates I believe.
