I was just wondering (for future reference) who does paid work on Omega's n the Oof?
I know a couple that do but it would be really helpful if there was a list. Or is there a list already?
Even better would be an Oof garage with MOT station and Oof shop. ;D

That's ex-plod though isn't it so would have many pointy things on the roof ;D
But in all seriousness if mine, bigtimecube, and the one in the picture doesn't have a phone, What's the purpose of these aerials if not for the radio... ?
-
Might be a late facelift thing, given how yowsless the rear window aerials are ::)
-
It is for the phone, the factory pre-wiring. It's not for the built in NCDC 2015 system which seems to use the same aerial as the NCDC 2013

My 2001 cd has got 2 on the standard one on roof and one that says vodaphone on the top of rear screen :)

The rooftop aerial on saloons is a GSM aerial for phones. Most came prewired for phones, making it trivial to fit phone kits.
Those with satnav have the GPS unit built into the base.
The FM/AM aerial on saloons is built into the rear screen.

Yep look the same... Here's mine.

Weren't me either :)
Any way were all going off topic here as per Kate's original question

I would imagine all roof skins were produced with thr aeriel hole in, so the new purchaser of a lesser equiped model would not be happy with a rubber grommit fitted as standard from new ;D :y :y

Who does cambelts then?

I would help any Oof member with any work, If it's in my ability! I have done my own cylinder head and in a little under 2 weeks, will be tearing my dad's to bits to rectify his oil burning issue and lack of power!
I would only ask that the fellow member would assist with the repairs and supply all the parts needed ;)
Offer is there if anyone in this area needs it (Chesterfield / Sheffield area)! Don't do welding though
I do prefer the 2.2 engines to work on as they are simpler and I know my way around them pretty well

That's very kind of you to offer. Thanks very much.:y
I have all the parts - timing belt kit, aux belt, water pump & antifreeze. The problem I've got is that my MOT ran out yesterday. :(
An oof member got in touch with me and offered to help so I thought it was going to be sorted, but this person keeps putting me off. I think I must have offended him without realising it?
My local garage who did the MOT said they are not confident about doing the cambelt so I don't feel happy with them 'attempting' it.
I would have liked some help with the ABS ECU. I enjoy finding out about mechanics and learning and meeting members but it seems like everyone is either busy or too far away, unfortunately.
Never-mind though, I'll get it sorted somehow. ;D
Without this brilliant forum and the help of so many kind members I'd be stuffed so I've got to say a massive thank you to them all. :y
Thanks again for your offer of help. :-* :-* :-*

Not a bad idea to put together a list of who can do what and where. Personally I do local servicing work on a variety of cars and am happy doing Omega servicing, brakes, rad changes, coil packs, code reading and can do key programming etc around the Merseyside area for moderate amounts of beer tokens. Cambelts are not my cup of tea though !

Did the solenoid do the job :y
