Title: Sikaflex.
Post by: Bikerdon on 16 March 2014, 14:35:15
About to go and pick up some sikaflex so I can fit my new lower windscreen seal, was just wondering if its also suitable for use as a seam sealer. Reason for asking is because the bulkhead seams under the scuttle are tatty with the seam sealer on them flaking a bit, so would be as well doing them while I'm at it.

It will either be Sikaflex 265 or Sikaflex EBT.

Not sure how effective it would be as seam sealer though :-\

as long as you clean and prime it properly it should be fine as a seam sealer

Unless the windscreen seal to scuttle is damaged, it doesn't need any adhesive. Just clean it up and re fit with the scuttled removed, which gives you the perfect oppertunity to clean up the scuttle joins and run a bead of any sealant type stuff along to give a water right join. :y

Siksflex is magic stuff... sticks shit to a blanket... but there are different tubes for certain jobs.  Used it for years  :y
