Captain was taken ill yesterday so is in Hospital as we speak.

I have only posted this so we can show we care for a Great Fellow Forum Member.

Hi Honey I'm home.

Thanks for all your kind wishes everyone, I collapsed on the bedroom floor early Sunday morning and ended up with a blue light taxi to the local hospital. Turns out my diabetes is type one not type two and my blood sugar level was up to 47 when I got to A&E which combined with diabetic ketoacidosis was what put me there in the first place. I'm also suffering the runs from hell and was given imodium to take but unfortunately it just seems to be making everything worse so a call back to the hospital will be in order later I think.
So to sum up, you've not got rid of me yet I just have to inject myself twice a day rather than take tablets. Bit of a faff but not difficult at all. There's still a way to go but we're getting there I think.

Glad to see you are up^* and about :y, hopefully you'll be fully recovered soon.  As I understand from friends with the condition, stabbing yourself twice a day really allows you to control it once you get used to it.

^*Up = sat on the throne wondering if you'll ever be solid again :P

9.9 isnt that high first thing in the morning, tbh, your body generates a 'boost' just before you wake up.....as was explained by my nursey

But 47  :o

I assume you were being naughty and not testing yourself ..... it doesnt go that high overnight.....unless you had a sugar fest the night before...
