Hello!
Is the only place I can get a spare key from Vauxhall?
I have found the key code and immobiliser code card and wondered if there is anywhere that would be cheaper than Vauxhall to get one from?
Also, I had superb service from All German Parts this afternoon when needing a gasket to go between the manifold and cat :) :y
Thanks, Paul

Fob & uncoded gubbins from VX (around £30). Blade from the bay. Then a TechII to program it

Thank you :) I'm not sure what you mean by blade? I'm new here and haven't quite grasped the lingo yet :-[

Ignore the red line, just shows transponder chip

Ahh I see. I thought that's what you meant but wasn't sure.
Thank you for your help :)

...., just shows transponder chip
But worth noting that it lives there. Very easily lost if you don't know :y

Just make sure you get the right blade. Should be a number stamped on it IIRC

Ok, I'll have a look when the wife gets in as she had the car today as it was fitted with new cat and wishbones. I just have only one key, hence why I'm asking about another :)
Thank you for your help :)

Thank you :) She's only about 20 mins away now so I'll have a look soon. I was sold the car with only one key and the guy I bought it from said he bought it with only one key. So I'm just after the cheapest way of getting a spare. I thought going to Vx direct may cost quite a bit though.

I think you're looking at around £100 all in. Compared to the £225 that Merc charges, it's quite cheap! ::) ;)

I used to do blades (with transponder) for a tenner, Fob for £30 (though these have crept up to about £28+VAT now), and programming as per http://theboy.omegaowners.com

Fixed that for you Jaime! ::) ::) ::)

Blade incl transponder - around £8 off ebay then tame locksmith to cut/copy original. Then needs Tech2
Fob, if you haven't got one, either new from Vx or again ebay the Tech2 :y

The blade type is 105 for all Omegas. Post 1996 cars use a horseshoe, Up to 1995 use a traditional shaped key.
The 3 button fobs, used in facelift saloons) suffer switch problems (which cause people to press harder, screwing the rubbers). The 2 button ones (used in PFL saloons and all estates) are indestructible, apart from....
All fobs suffer from battery holder faults, usually where someone has been too heavy handed in splitting the fob to change battery.
The battery holder and switch issues are easy fixes if you are pretty good with a small, high quality soldering iron (switches are surface mount).
If the rubber has started to deform/split on a 3 button fob, as none of the pattern ones are any good (all rock hard), I'd get a replacement fob from dealer (about £28+VAT) and find a friendly, local programmer.

As matter of interest to all, I made the mistake of buying a 2.2DTI with only I key without realising the cost and hassle of a replacement. Last weekend I was opening the drivers door with the key in my hand and as I got into the car and pulled the door shut, the key tip unbelievably got stuck into a narrow channel in the door frame and snapped off. Fortunately I was in Green Flag but it took a lift on low loader to get me home. The upshot is, I was given a contact who got the pin number from Vauxhall, visited me at home and cut a new key, all on the same day. The web site if you are in the North West is autolocksmiths.co.uk. Check them out.

Didnt Martin do key fob repairs etc,I remember he done one of mine and I forgot to send the other to him.If I remeber it was about a£10 a couple years ago?
Decent chap and excellent service. :y

Yes I do.
OK I will mention I have just had some soft 3 button with red LED window, previous batch were hard.
Ebay ones vary a lot.
When I have finished selling bits I will be on a lot less. So people will need to email me :y

I didn't contribute that much recently as I have been very busy.
As to grab and run, been selling on here cheaper than on Ebay.
