Some of you may remember i posted up saying a very similar job role to what i do here in London, has become vacant in our HQ in San Jose, CA.
Well i went to my boss who is the Director of Infrastructure, and he said yip, no probs, shame to see you go, speak to HR about applying.
So i did, they said update your CV and we can apply.
Before i could, had to get approval from the UK CEO, he gave his go-ahead yesterday.
He has now e-mailed the US CEO and big boss person :o
So what this space!

Oo -- eerrr -- all seems to be happening ! Have you decided what you'll do if they say yes ?
-
Good luck!

got a few questions for the interview which will help me decide.
Main points for me are:
1) Will the role in San Jose, be as varied as here. (i do alot of things outside my job description)
2) Will they match the salary i get here
3)Costs relating to Visa/Moving, will there be a relocation package.
I need the answers to those before i would say yes/make my decision.

if you play your cards right, you may even get an expenses paid trip out there for an interview :D

Go for it Tunnie :y......not much to stick around for in this country anymore. :(

I am secretly hoping for that, but some how i doubt it.
One bit of good luck, maybe bad, is i am in the Canary Islands next week, and the US team is visiting us then.
I highly doubt they will fly me out there, we have a video conference setup in one of the offices, bet they will use that :(

Depends Tunnie if they like you and feel you would be an asset too there team out there id ask too be flown out at there expense if for no other reason than too familiarize yourself with there complex and too enquire about accommodation.
I doubt they would really expect you too fork out for airfare and digs will looking for a place too live...maybe be worth asking before things go too far. :)

I doubt it as you are requesting the move rather than them relocating you.

It will be something i ask for, even if its just a months rent in advance and the cost of the flight over there. If it makes me seriously out of pocket, i won't go.

That might sound as if you're not really serious about the move. If you really want to go and you think it's a good move (I certainly do), then take the financial hit and go for it.
Not wishing to sound bitter, but I wish I'd done it when I was younger. You've always got a place with your parents if it doesn't work out.

Way i look at it, if they want me, they will give me a package.
If they don't really want me and i have to pay to get out there, i don't really want to work there...
Visa costs can get into the thousands, plus a flight, mounts up a lot.
Have to see what they say.
