Title: airbag light

i have a e71 code come up for my airbag light for mot they say front end some where how do you find where abouts without taking the car apart any help would be great

That can be a difficult one to chase. Start with the sensor in the drivers door, though worthwhile measuring the loom whilst its all apart.

any idea where the sensor is in the door I take it behind the panel and hope it will be easily to find from then on

At bottom, obvious once doorcard off.

Your fault is side impact sensor  ???

is there a way of testing the sensor at all as it all looks ok and wires all still wrapped in original wrapping no cuts or nicks out of the loom and the sensor itself looks pretty new can you do a test to see if its faulty or not.

Reset the codes in the ECU, and if it comes back, its either knackered sensor or wiring or ECU. That particular one is a sod to fix, as there is no real way to diagnose it if intermittent.  Hopefully Auto Addict will see this, as he had a similar problem, which I think ended up being a poor connection on one of the main body looms...
