Title: Advice On Bumper Damage
Post by: BenjieH on 31 March 2014, 19:15:01
Hi Everyone, Went out to the car this afternoon and found that some little oink had hit my miggy and caused this:
(https://dl.dropbox.com/s/fzfym6jzwsdc05v/rsz_sam_0557.jpg) (https://dl.dropbox.com/s/k8rfrddz2kmawvg/rsz_sam_0556.jpg)

Of course they didn't leave a nice note with their name and insurance details!

Just wondering if you guys think that the damage is reparable using the halfords filler and paint, the scratches are quite deep, almost tears in the bumper, or is it a new bumper?

Thanks as always
Ben

Plastic so you should be able to fix it fine. Of course, if you're like me then you'll KNOW it is there and it'll never be the same again. Little bar-stewards.

Give it a once over with rubbing compound/T cut and a polish first...

Alot of that will polish out, then you can assess what's left :y

Might be worth a call to Chips Away or similar... cost might not be too far off the Halfords/diy route :-\

Looks fairly easy repair - as said use cutting compound first to assess extent of damage.

Definitely repairable with the right tools and skill set  :y
Looks like someone was blind enough to miss it and turn into it  ::) I hate people that damage other peoples cars and drive away leaving you with a repair bill  >:(
