Title: Wishbones
Post by: joff on 31 March 2014, 20:19:16
Went down to Bristol to see RobG today and my Dti still has a knock when i put on the brakes, i fitted new wishbones (flea bay £50 a set (i know)) new drop links fitted and a tracking check done(not at WIM) then after MoT (clean sheet) car pulls to left a bit but not all the time and a knock when brakes go on from both sides, other week i put a new steering idler on and no change.

Yesterday had front wheels off and could not find anything amiss. so put a bar up between front bush and give it a little lever, now correct me here but i don't think there should be any movment front to back, and before you say anything the bolts and nuts are done up

I have a set of poly bushes in the garage and think they will have to go on. If it is the bushes they lasted 2 months or less >:(

These are the only people I buy cheap wishbones/track rods from...

Track rods and rear bushes last about 20k, which is quite reasonable considering both wishbones, both droplinks and both complete trackrods are usually £75-90 delivered :y

That said my last couple of sets were polybushed prior to fitting, and the current set has polys all round :-\
