Title: The mighty Manchester United...
Post by: Stemo on 01 April 2014, 12:24:11
...are playing their European cup tie against the Huns at that impregnable fortress, Old Trafford, tonight. Teams visiting the theatre of dreams are usually quaking in their boots.
Let's ask the bookies what they think: Man U 11/2,  Germins* 1/2.
Oh......that's quite a surprise......no?

 ;D

*Germin = Scouter for German.

:DBest play Rooney in defence tonight otherwise he won't touch the ball. You never know though if utd win tonight they could even go on and win the premiership.   :o

They need to win the Champions league final. They have nothing else this season.

Utd lambs to the slaughter though I fancy.
Bayern don't need any boost in confidence, they are flying this season, but Utd's combination of form so far, the History of beating them to win the treble in 99 in the dying seconds, and Moyes poor team selection will just bolster their resolve. There will be no complacency from Ze Germans.

Bayern will leave no stone unturned. There will be no mercy. None.

I don't give them much chance either . . but . . . it's a funny old game .

I backed Liverpool  nearly 10 years ago when they were bottom of their Champions league group  at 80-1   :o :o :o

Yep that was the year they went on & won it on penaties against AC Milan after being 3-0 down at half time in Instanbul ;) ;) ;)

Unlikely , but if The Mancs were to win 2-0   with The "Jearmanns" having an off night ,

they could possibly defend that lead in Munich & maybe even get an away goal ::) ::)

Think we all know they gonna get a stuffin' tonight though  :( :(   wonder who Stemo's backed ? :-\ :-\

I don't bet on every game, just Liverpool's. I'll have bought them the premiership the way things are going, the poorest supporter in the land. :(

Bayern look predictable. Almost everything up front is going through Robben and Man U are covering really well. Fantastic goal from Vidic, that ball was a foot behind him.
Come on Mancs, keep our interest in the competition alive.

Didn't matter if he dived or not, The Shwine still jumped in with both feet. Any German would of done the same.

...in fact they did with Valencia up the other end. Same old Germans, always cheating. ::)

1-1 draw in Germany, then MU through to semis. Penalties in Germany against a German club, what could possibly go wrong?  ::) :o :-[ ;D

A false dawn. This game was right up Moyes' street. Park the bus and hope for a counter attack. He'll do the same in Munich.
Against Liverpool and City he was exposed as the poor tactician he is when it comes to attacking football.
Ferdinand and Vidic are being hailed for rolling back the years.... Nonsense. They sat so deep that their lack of pace and all round immobility wasn't exposed.

The Evertonisation of United continues.

The strategy would have worked so much better if some of those through balls had been accurate - a lot of pressure would have been put on Bayern with more accuracy - as it turned out many through balls went speeding through to the keeper or out of play without giving a chance for Welbeck & Co to get onto them.

I think a good effort and credit due but the loss of the ball in first 30 minutes was criminal

For the life of me I do not know why Felaini and Calamity Phil Jones continue to be rated by United. Dreadful players (although as a City fan I'm quite happy for you Reds to hang on to them for as long as possible, haha!).

Mrs Humbucker and I were watching the match, conceding that at season end United will have won the Champions League, David Moyes will admit that this was his plan all along (at the expense of domestic competition) and everyone will hail him as a genius. Maybe ;)

Good result today, against Newcastle.

ESP given no Rooney or RVP. Felaini completely un involved in the build up each goal going by Match of the day.

They gave a stat on away form, of which Utd are top of the league in the form guide. At home however... ::)

Good play from Hanandez Mata and Januzi. Maybe he'll stick with that set up. And drop mop head. Please.
