My car has 4 Pirelli P Zero Rosso? on it & a (new?) Firestone? spare.

My experience is that goodyear f1 assemetric or conti 3 are the best choice.

Conti SC3 (not SC5) seem to be the most widely recommended tyre, expecially if you can get the Mercedes "MO" variant but they are towards the higher cost end of the market.

Some budget tyres work well, but most recommendations on here are for tyres which are now discontinued.

"Avoid Falken" is also sound advice.

But.. different people need their tyres to do different things depending on budget, driving style, etc. so you won't necessarily get the right answer for you.

Oh, and online tyre review sites are a waste of time.

Depends what you want from a tyre.  Some that are definitely worth avoiding are, unless you're on a suicide mission:

Continental SC5
Falken (anything, but esp 912)
Autogrip (anything)

Mid grip, premium, worth considering:
Goodyear F1 Assymetric 2
Continental SC3 (generic)

High grip, premium, worth considering:
Dunlop Sport Maxx TT
Dunlop Sport Maxx RT

These are based on my own personal experiences of tyres on my own Omegas, over the life of the tyre (with the exception of Falkens, which were only on for a couple of miles). Tyres long obsolete are excluded.

My driving style is...   ...I tend to get approx. 10k from a set of tyres.

Was this a recommendation from the place potentially supplying them? If so, ignore the recommendation...

If looking for a current midrange tyre I would probably suggest trying Kumho KU39s. Now my suspension issue has been sorted I've got an idea how they behave.

They aren't outstanding in any respect but aren't poor in any respect either IMHO. Noise is OK but not the quietest tyre I've had. Grip level is a step down from the grippiest tyres, but perfectly acceptable for "normal" road use and they are still good in the wet. They seem to be wearing quite quickly, though. They tramline quite badly on the front when well worn, but only sub-3mm, and most tyres do on an Omega, IME.

Given the wear rate and that SC3s are only another £20 a corner, though, it might well be cost-neutral on wear to go with them anyway, as they are the better tyre.

Fit what ever you can afford. And just because it has a name you cannot pronounce,or never heard of doesn't mean its c**p.

I can remember when all the map tyres come over, and people said no good, look at them now.

and before you start dunlops are made in Japan.

Now, there are some who say there's a reason they're called "Hero". ;) It would be good to hear your feedback on them. :y

how much each?
i buy on price, and if that upsets people "face bovered" when driving if it feels wrong on cheaper tyres slow down, its a public road not a race track,...

To put that in perspective, the Mig I've bought has four Pirelli P7's on it. Generally they seem to come in at ~£120 a corner..... They're shite. The tramlining is borderline dangerous, dry grip is good, but most tyres mid range up are nowadays, wet grip is average, and feedback is pants. If I'd have spent the think end of £500 on them I'd be fuming. They've got 6mm of tread on too so not towards the end of their life.

Migs are very tyre fussy. I'd go on recommendation from other Mig owners, ignore the budget, mid, and premium 'tags'.

Thanks for the info. I do at least 25K miles a year and don't like dawdling so want good tyres. When they need changing i'll probably go to WIM in Chesham to have the car set up properly as it's not to far from me.
