Title: Threadlock question
Post by: Andy A on 11 April 2014, 17:03:36
Will this be ok for the water pump bolts etc when I finally do my cam belt change and will it also be ok to use on the prop shaft  nuts and bolts when I do the diff pinion oil seal?
Its called Bond-It A43 Threadlock - Blue medium strength anaerobic oil tolerant threadlocker - seals out moisture & prevents corrosion

They also do a red one called A70 full strength but I think it will be too much for the pump bolts. Or shell I get both, blue for the water pump etc and red for the prop shaft. What do you think?

If you do them up to the correct torque shouldn't need that on the bolts you mention.but if you wish to then use the blue.

I'd use thread lock when doing the pinion oil seal.  The securing nut came loose on my Senator's diff, I tightened it to a sensible torque which got rid of the slight while on the over run, however it slackened off. When I tightened it again, I used a little thread lock ... sorted.  :y
