Title: I've got an MOT
Post by: Vamps on 11 June 2008, 21:38:22
As I made that tentative call to my 'independant' thinking the worst cos he has not rang  me to tell me to come and get it :( I say, did it pass, he says it has now :y
Went to collet the car, it needed a tyre :-[ not because it was worn but it was damaged, he showed me, looks like it may have been stood on something sharp / jaggered when it was parked up over winter.
A bulb and that horrible rattle from the exhaust was not the baffles, needed a new Cat.

So,
MOT
Tyre, ballance and disposal
Bulb
Catalytic Converter

Total cost inc vat and labour £268.04 seems a bit of a result to me. :y

:y Great news to have an MOT Mike, `considering the list of bits not too extreme a cost to put right (but wish it had been a bit less for you) ;)

I was a little worried when he mentioned 'Cat' as the last one I had done on a previous Mig cost £400 at Kwik Fit, that might have included the rear exhaust, but even so.
According to the bill there is no charge for the Cat but £84.86 for a Festoon Bulb :o So I guess he made a mistake making the bill up. :y

Good luck, allways a worry though, even if you have gone over it with a fine toothed comb. :y

Not going to bother.

Will just put it through.  If a bulb is out like it was last year (headlamp) they put them in F.O.C. for me

I have been using them for years,

In fact when I rang up, I asked to book the car in next week, and got Hi Phil, hows tuesday sound.... :y :y :y
