whos watchin it on channel 5.
i have watched every episode. sad i know.
any way the lass who is a steward (blonde hair) she hes really anoyed me!
she has basiclly dumped her fella so she can shag the bloke she is spending all her time on board with. she is so young aswell. their are better and more experianced people they could have picked to follow for 5mths.
In 2003 i served on board with my hubby ( we werent married at the time) and didnt do that good by! she looked like a love sick puppy :o
She has basically give us women in the navy a bad look! you cant just go and dump your man sorry ("have a break from the relationship") because your away for 6 mths. >:( >:( >:(
sorry rant over!

It`s been very interesting and informative to watch; but I was struck by how much 'equipment' aboard is broken/unserviceable....a sad reflection on defence-budget shortfalls and how little our island-nation values it`s Senior Service! :'(

According to a recent report they don't even go out fully armed any more, even when going to the Gulf! :o

this is just the 2 ships that are being decomissioned in 2009.
Once a warhead is removed from storage its life starts ticking away and the life of a missle is not that long would you beleive. and the arnt cheep!
i dont condone going out of uk waters without the correct protection but we need to spend the funds given to the RN in other places unfortunatly.
there just isnt enough money anymore!!!

Which ones are being decommisioned?
FAA are already fighter less :(

GR Ground attack, compared to the FA2 Fighter Attack, sorry just read a lot about aircraft!
FAA favourites are Sea Fury, Buccaneer and Sea Harrier
RAF are Spitfire, Lanc, Mosquito, Lightning, Vulcan, Victor, TSR2.
Civil Concorde, BA146, Comet

The sea harrier was too heavy and its systems were starting to become out dated and incompatible with the new weapons systems available. so we had no choice really what with afgan!

What I found quite revealing was a chap in an earlier program mentioning how they have to feed ratings on £1.80 a day. The chap also managed to mention that the budget for criminals locked up is higher, with an irony in his voice. Sorry to go into rant mode, but this country is SH1T if we pay more to feed criminals than people guarding our waters. Take the politicians out and shoot the lot. :(

Did you not hear him say that the military dogs get a large daily food allowance then us too!

For better or worse my country is finally coming out with new hardware. Thing is the next round will be robotic warplanes. Gonna need them since recruitment's dropped so much. ::) Not really supportive of the CCTV equivalent of armed warfare though, could be a really bad idea! >:(
-
the only reason we have not got robotic warplanes is because we cant gard the planes against other countrys jamming our control signal and using our planes against us.
opps did i just type this....
