Title: Interesting take overs in my industry
Post by: Martin_1962 on 13 June 2008, 21:42:24
There have been some high and low profile takeovers involving our customers.

The biggest single UK processor sold to Pilkingtons.

Three other sites sold to two other companies.

Is this dangerous for us or an opportunity?

Well the way the German companies are treating huge customers a very good opportunity. :y

My boss was transfering a site today (new documentation ect) and he put a demo of our Windows software on the PCs.

Here are some intersting links

Martin. I think your a little behind the times mate. The AG news is 18 months old and A & W have been owned by the Finnish Glaston Group for over a year.

I agree that there are interesting times ahead. Opportunities for us all I believe.  I would suggest your boss gives me a call.  :y

Actually AG was only late last year, and the others are not yet news, we have been told by a few A&W customers that service has gone down hill

That looks good,  Pilkington consolidating their UK interests, instead of another great British company being bought out by the asset strippers. Esp that one close to me. Now I need a glass unit, 1028*1108, who do I contact ? (best price please !!!!)

Morley Glass and say that Martin from Jotika recommended them, there are others around there but they are tougheners - you could try Dualseal at Hudderfield as well

AG are pretty efficient and are our biggest single site and AFAIR is the bigest single site in the UK

Thank you Sir, I will give them a call real soon.

By the way a unit of this size does not fit into the back seat of the Omega.  :'( :'( I got it partially in but the door wouldn't open enough, and the glass just made that horrible crack sound. Should have left it in the frame and put the whole lot on the roof.
