Title: Mmmmm, Whisky.
Post by: Big Fra on 13 June 2008, 01:07:36
Been saving this bottle of good stuff for a while now.

Just cracked it and taken the first sip.

I now fully understand why it's so expensive.

 ;)

There are different ways to drink whisky.

For example, Blue label, room temp, with a glass of water on the side.

Black label, good measure, 4-5 cubes of ice.

Red label, mix with cola and ice.

J&B, tall glass with lemonade.

Bulleit Bourbon, Mix with ginger beer and ice.

I could find out some others, but these are all I can remember off the top of my head

hate the stuff really.
Personal experiances.

use to watch my dad drink a hell of a lot of whisky. which would then be followed by a load of shoutin and banging. :'( most lads i know whisky makes them punchy.

Same can be said for any alcohol drunk to excess.

A lot of us here really enjoy a (ie Singular) glass of the good stuff.

I often have one before bed, real relaxant.
I never use such nice Whisky to get pissed.
may on occasion (such as an oof meet) have 4-5 but purely to be sociable  ::)

I only drink whisky as I enjoy it.

I could never drink it to excess.

If I am out and about and do have a too many lageros, I end up getting hungry then want to sleep. Doesn't matter where, food plus sleep equals a happy fra 8-)

If you are talking about a single malt (my favourite!) it is sacrilege to "water it down" Skruntie!  :o :o :o Would you put go faster stripes on a Ferrari, or a nodding dog in the back of an Aston Martin ? :o :o   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I cant help it Lizzie,  Whisky and Brandy etc give me some sort of heartburn.

I am not really a drinker any way.  If I do drink I like Rum and coke, used to like drinking Red Witches in pint glasses.

Gave up drinking in the 80's, found a bottle of Bicardi or Purnod every night was having no effect, so just gave it up.

I am sorry to hear that Skruntie, and I really was only joking! I believe in only having a drink when I am socialising with company, and then I usually drink soft drinks because I am always driving!  In anycase if it is not a single malt I like whisky with coke, but would usually have a Cinzano and lemonade if I was drinking ''drink'! ;D ;D ;)

I have tried a lot of things, it doesnt bother me at all these days, I am just as happy with a glass of coke.

If I go for a pub lunch I may have a pint of Shandy and then go over to cokes.

I took a likeing to Campari (with lemonade)  I have the odd bottle of wine, cant stand the red stuff though.
