Hi all,
Off to Sweden & Norway in June for a couple of weeks. Never been before, has anyone else?
Just wondering what the climate is like at this time of year and general thoughts please?
TIA :y

The main thing I've noticed about the climate is that it's expensive. :o
On a serious note, both beautiful countries and should be very pleasant that time of year.
FFS take your own booze, though. ;)
Oh, and a blindfold if you're going to need darkness to get to sleep if you're going too far north!

Went to Stockholm some years ago about this time of year. From what I recall weather was pleasantly warm, not hot you understand but nor freezingly cold.Exchange rate at the time was £1=11Krona.If near there and interested in maritime matters/history then seeing the warship Wasa which they salvaged and is now on display well worth the visit.

We're driving from Southern Sweden up the east coast crossing into Norway and heading to the northern coast. Ref supplies, we are taking several pallets of beer to see us through, lol. Ref a blindfold, forgot all about them :o. Def gonna need one of them ;D ;D

I drove a truck from Oslo back to London a few years ago and the scenery was great! :y Sadly I didn't have time to look around and artics arn't really suitable for sightseeing!! ::) ;D

Food is generally excellent IF you get way from the "trendy" places that serve one pea, a drop of gravy and half a teaspoon of meat .. and charge a stupid amount .. :( As said, booze is expensive, especially in clubs which open late (11-midnight) and close around 5 !! Most hotels I stayed in have VERY thick blackout curtains for lack of dark, but it is a tad concerting/mind blowing to be walking home at 1 in the morning in bright daylight !!
People are very friendly and mostly speak excellent english :y :y

Agreed both lovely countries, they get sparse the further north you go. As said already booze is extortionate and they look at you strangely drinking at lunch time. ;D
Enjoy the trip. :y

My son and his girlfriend have driven to Tromso in Norway via Sweden a couple of times and they absolutely loved it, especially the Northern Lights. :y I can't comment on the weather as they went in February when it was minus thirty. :o

Know what you mean. There's a convoy of us in artics going, but double crewed, so I might get to see a bit of the countryside :)
Thanks for the replies too guys :y

Both lovely countries, people very friendly and most speak good English. As said cost of living higher than here, particularly booze.
Used to regularly drive up from Malmo, to Fagelmara, and sometimes up to Stockholm - best to stick to speed limits as fines high! If we didn't want to drive, we used to fly MUK Air out of Copenhagen, up to Ronneby, or Stockholm (believe MUK Air may have now been swallowed up by a larger airline).
Also used to go to Orkla (Food manufacturing group) in Oslo - same comments apply as for Sweden.
Enjoy Scandanavia :y

Been to both, more trips to Norway though.
Business to Oslo and Asker lots, a few trips to Trondheim and Kristiansand plus Bergen.
Sweden is expensive but Norway is VERY expensive :y
