Title: What would you do..
Post by: tooleater on 28 April 2014, 10:06:32
Briefly guys, take 1 mig with failed mot and road tax out end of this month. Booked with Daz this coming Saturday, I'm driving to his place. There is a new cambelt, cam cover gaskets all the usual    stuff going in + shocks and springs. Would you take to the local guy who's not bad, get him to fit new suspension bits, then drive 200yards for the re test. Failed on fractured spring :'(  on plus side! gets mot d gets taxed all legal! minus.. More ££ s,cambers will be a mile out will there be any front tyres left by the time I get to Stoke on Trent ;D or should I leave it to the Main man. Any thoughts will welcomed on this guys :y
Cheers John

Change the spring diy. Get it mot'd.

Carry on legally as required.

Driving a Car with tax out by a day or two is one thing, but driving without Tax and MOT is another, especially if your thinking about driving to Daz's way and back from where you live, your just be asking for  a tug and there probably take your car off you.

Get the MOT sorted, then get the other stuff done by Daz, worst case get a set of second hand springs, hand them to the Garage to be fitted, followed by a MOT ticket.  :y

Cheers guys will have to bite the bullet on the extra cost. I heard so much conflicting info I've just realised what was I thinking. Do h no tax and no mot = I use to have clean licence :'(

The car has been up with Daz for a few weeks and I spoke to him last night for a progress report, and he's well on the way to finishing the car, I can't remember every thing that's being done as he's working from a big list, but one of the main jobs was to fit Eibach springs and Bilsteins all round, brakes, wishbones etc.The other two cars are scheduled to go up for new cats(given up on second hand ones) a few other bits i.e brakes......the lists are getting longer as always. ::)
