Title: Fuel filter question
Post by: Andy A on 04 May 2014, 08:40:14
When I got the car there was a new Fram G5540 fuel filter in the box in the boot. On one end it says out.

I have looked on the old fuel filter for an arrow or an out mark but there isn't one.

How can I tell what pipe the new filters out connects to?

Also are these filters OK or should I put a VX one in?

Thanks

I think I have worked it out. One end is domed and the other end is flat. Flat end will be out. Is this correct?

Thanks

Does the arrow on the new one point to the flat surface? If so, your assumption is a reasonable one given that the Fram filter should be a passable copy of the original one :y

No arrow on the Fram just says out on the flat end. The old one off the car doesn't have anything written on it and no arrow either. I thought they all had to have some indication to which way round they go.  :o
