You can try asking Marks DTM what he charges. Failing that, a little further away, is Darth Loo-knee...

what sort price i am looking at ? include w/pump?
-
The price is difficult for me to quantify, xwai, because James also replaced my thermostat and transfer tube, did an oil change and other general tidying up. It will also depend on mileage to you, of course.
As regards the water pump, James considered mine to be in good condition, and not worth changing; if yours is an original Vx pump, it could be ok as well.
I have to say that James is a perfectionist, so you can be assured of a great job, unlike a garage job posted on here today, where it seems that they had got the timing wrong!

Surely that's a question for whoever does the work?
-
I thought only the 4 pots needed the water pump done with the timing belt...... :-\
-
I cannot remember i think w/pump is non gen . Can deal with oil myself basially I don't Have the required cam lock kit I vaguely remember its crucial to lock it correctly did look on ebay but didn't look Good

earlier this year Autovaux was doing an offer with the belt kit and a water pump for £100 delivered

It's not crucial on the v6, as it runs on the aux belt, not the cam belt as on the four pots. Owners call really, I have one in the shelf, so each time I do the cam belt just check the bearing in the pump for wear, or just release the tension on the aux belt to check it prior to the work. If its got play or runs rough then change it. If not leave it, the oe ones generally do over a 100k quite easily, and the newer ones are allegedly not as reliable.
....IMO of course. Thing is of it fails it has to be stripped back to the cam belt again to change it. Although the cam belt itself is untouched of course.

No probs - nice one mate.
I've always used Buypartsby for cambelt kits - they supply Contitech - never had any issues with these - also Gates and SKF kits recommended.
Water pumps a bit more difficult - Vx now silly expensive - I've always used Vx (when reasonable price), or more recently QH water pumps (but QH no longer exists). Still got one QH one in stock for the 2.6 V6 when I need it - sorry can't offer more help on the water pump.
-
Recent pattern water pumps have not been that great, TBH. I think I'd leave the pump on a V6 if it's not leaking.
-
Just go North and let Daz sort it out. Failing that contact him and he will come to you. He replaced mine a few weeks ago, good bloke :y and attention to detail second to none :y

Almost three years ago my local Vauxhall dealer charged £330 including a new GM w/pump
After I'd paid he told me that he'd f**ked up his sums and undercharged me. :y
Expect to pay the thick end of £550 at a dealer. :'(
