I have sold the project Elite and the bloke is collecting this afternoon. When the buyer was test driving the brake pad warning light came on so I said I would sort it before he collected. When I took the wheels off this morning the pads and discs had seen better day and needed changing. I got my asking price for the car so would you have changed them or not?

I would of seen his response and gaugued it from there, seen if he was bothered or not TBH

If I'd said I would sort the issue as part of the sale then I would sort it.

Only kidding ;) I'd fix them :y

I would have fixed them.....and then told him what had been done so he would go away an even happier man :y
-
tell him that they need replacing and give him the cost of the parts back of the price sold for!
-
Just done the pads

I replaced the disc and pads with genuine. The bloke has two small kids and I couldn't live with myself if anything happened. What puzzles me is the discs and pads were only £87.30 on TC :-?
I think the parts manager has a hard spot for me ::)

Good move mate -- would've done the same. No -- to be exact -- with my level of mechanical incompetence he would've been safer as they were -- I would have talked a mate into doing them for a few beer tokens !!!!

not to mention saying that you'd do them before he collects, giving no indication that he should foot the bill ;D
