As per title, I'm picking up my new (to me) omega on Saturday. It's a y reg 2.2dti estate. I always get a Haynes for any car I have because you never know when it can come in handy, and as this is my first rear wheel drive car, is wanting to read up on stuff. And in general too. Sad I know, but I always say you don't know what you don't know (sort of make sense!) Anyway, I've been looking for one and can't find any after t reg. I've just been on Haynes website and that doesn't list one either. Does this mean they never published one?

Yup, no book to cover facelifts, but most things are covered, for the DTi engine you may want to look for another book maybe VectraB/C?
-
I'm guessing most things are the same ie suspension, brakes, diff, basically it's the same car apart from some bodywork and interior? And obviously the engine too. Is the gearbox the same?

Ha ! My favourite expression. Especially to someone who's going "yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah" when being told something or having it explained.

Gearbox, drive-train, suspension, brakes ect all the same. Some interior differences, but should cover you for most things.
The DTi was not introduced until 2001, no similar engine was used. The previous diesel was the 2.5TD BWM 6 pot lump, so for engine things you may want to get another book :y

Brilliant cheers pal.

Now this is weird: I am as sure as I can be that I once borrowed a FL Haynes from the library, but having returned it, it's no longer available. Did I dream it, or did somebody else "borrow" it long-term?
It DID exist, I promise....I'm not ready for the strait jacket yet........
Ron.

What he said. I contacted Haynes many years ago to ask about something not covered in their Omega book. I asked at the time if the face lift model was covered by a separate book. They told me that as not enough of the facelift car were produced for them to do a manual, they didn't do one.

DTi covered pretty well in Vectra B and Zafira Haynes books.

Thing is, as TB will confirm, the superior facelift has no requirement for a Haynes manual as they are far, far, errrrm, superior.

Haynes never made one as they (rightly) assumed no sane person would buy the inferior facelift model (says the man who's had 2 ;D)

I can't... I've lost the Haynes manual now.
