Title: Your best baddy?
Post by: chrisgixer on 24 May 2014, 10:03:01
I'm torn between Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Batman. Or Bill Nighy as Davey Jones in Pirates of the Carribean. Personally.

Yours?

Needless to say, At Worlds End was on sky last night. ;)

for pure evilness it has to be Detective Stansfield (AKA Gary Oldman) in Leon: The Professional.

A bigger mention for Christopher Lee - all those Hammer films, Scaramanger in Bond, Lord of the rings, Star wars

One from my childhood - Darth Vader.  Obviously, the last of the proper films ruined it, and the new poxy ones...    ...no, don't get me on a rant ;D

Vader is good, but doesn't have that endearing evil humour of the Joker and Davey Jones. IMO.

 ...missing element there :)

Well not too many, well nobody, seemed to agree too much with the above, so how about Servelan from Blakes 7 (yes, I like female baddies  :y) or maybe Cruella De Ville from Disneys 1001 Dalmations ?

Ok, ok  here's a bloke  . . . . Commodus in Gladiator, now c'mon he was pretty bad

Kevin Spacey as Keyser Soze. So evil, that he had the rest of the gang, the cops and the viewers taking pity on him. . . . .

True, though I'm not a big fan of the Marvell Superhero style films, so tend not to watch most of them. I didn't particularly like the first (modern era) Batman film, or any since, so Nicholson's portrayal is wasted on me I'm afraid  :-[. Even Keira Knightly couldn't maintain my attention in that series, so I've never seen one all the way though...   ...bizarrely, as I tend to enjoy that kind of light hearted, Disney style film.

Tis bizarre how some films you don't really get into...

Anyway, I digress  :-[

Hmmm. I wonder, a pink film for TB perhaps...? Lots of talking and lovey duvvy bollards. Sought of film that can be "watched" on radio 4, as its all talk and no action.

A gay film, in short. Yes :)

I'm more mindless explosions, no plot (as in Commando, a great film), "clean" harmless comedy (eg, Italian Job), a good action film (such as early die hards), good thriller (terminator, esp the first), natural disaster types (twister, dantes peak up until it blows, then it goes shit), thinking films (such as murder mystery) or mostly true stories like Apollo 13. Also quite enjoy many of the Disney live action "kids" films, such as National Treasure etc.

Not into lovely dovey 'dangle berries', though Mrs TB is.

Surprising films are LOTR, didn't think I'd like that, but was captivated from the start, and TV series Lost, which suckered me in.

Marvell superhero, nah, just cant get into them for some reason. As a child, I was more Knightrider than Incredible Hulk.

I will, of course, make an exception for Ironman. Miss Ptts can look after me any day ;D
