Post by: baznrosie on 28 May 2014, 23:55:55
ive got a omega elite 1999, its been stood for 2 years, bought a new battery for it, it started up after a couple of turns. then i put the code in for my radio and  got that going. the problem was when i turned the engine off and took the key out of the iignition the radio stays on , and you cant turn it off manually neither. could anyone help with this problem.

Does it play Rick Astley 24/7?. That would be heaven to some on here. :y

What radio is it? A 1999 Elite could have the highly strung CCRT700 unit in, or a reasonably reliable (if you don't use CDRs) CCR2006 in it.

Esp if its a CCRT700, I'd try removing the radio from the car for 2hrs, then retrying.

One last check:
Ign On
Ign Off, but do not remove key
Open drivers door - does warning buzzer go off?

Then (after closing door):
Ign On
Ign Off and key removed
Open drivers door - does warning buzzer go off?
