Hi all, I have a 2002 omega 2.2 cdx auto. (Petrol). I have 2 faults at first I thought they were linked but now I'm not so sure, first is the gearbox, every now and then it seems to either go between gears and sit there until I let my foot off the throttle or it changes down, I'm not sure which because I'm not one for revving the nuts out off the engine. The second fault which may be related is that the mil light comes on, but on my fault code reader it says there are no stored fault codes and everything is fine? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt.

Have you had the transmission codes read? not all readers can do it. There can be issues with the solenoids in the box giving up and it doesn't want to change up to third from second.
-
Could it be the cam sensor as its only the 2/3rds of an engine in that ;D
-
Lol, in my opinion it's only 2/5 of an engine, but hopefully will get me to work and back not to uneconomically. If it is the valve bodies am I better to get another box or just replace the valve? Is it worth changing the gearbox oil and filter first or top it up if it's required?

First thing to check is cam sensor on the 4pots.

Even though there are no fault codes?

Given the symptoms, I'm expecting to see fault codes in the gearbox ECU. Ideally you want these read.
Worth checking ATF level as well.

I have checked the ATF and this is fine. Where do I read the gearbox ecu from the same under the steering wheel or is this located in a different location?

Same socket under the dash, code reader may give an option of engine or transmission to read. Then again your reader may not do trans codes :-\
