Hi everyone my name is linixs.. I have a silver vauxhall omega 2.2 sport Auto. . Wicked car.. been customising the car, so its been stud for about 6 months.
I had sorn it off the road as the mot and tax had expired.
Now im getting it ready for a MOT the engine is missfiring only slightly.
2 things I think it could be is
1) the plug on the ignition coil module..
2) the air intake maf sensor..
the reason I think this is it was running real rought till I cleaned the pins on the plug to the ignition coil module. . Suddenly it run much better.
But not great.
I have put a performance air filter on it and it goes really well with the extra bhp it helps produce.
but while fitting this air filter I have to remove all the standard filter box and pipes.
whiles I had removed all the pipes and box I squirted some carb cleaner down into the intake while the engine was running and the engine was running so well it was perfectly still.. no rocking , jumping. . Nothing.. it was like it wasn't running.
The only electrical components missing was the maf sensor. Other than the pipes and filter.
it would be great if someone could give me there opinion before I start shopping. Thanks

Thank you.. do any of you know what my problem might be please?

Extremely unlikely that you`ve gained extra BHP. Is it an "oiled" filter.
The only electrical components missing was the maf sensor
Are you running without a MAF?

Hello,welcome to the Forum :y

Thanks for the welcome. .hi rob.. the car at new produces 141bhp.. as its 11years old its probably lost quite a bit of that.. lol.. no if you take all the air system off just leave the main pipe and the maf sensor then connect the proformance filter on, you will notice the increased power.. I guarantee it.. but no we not talking massive amounts but you will feel it. Im no virgin to these filters but this is a new problem I have not had before.. the car has been stud for six months till very recently. . This problem didn't exist till I got it on the road again. Have you any advise :y
