Title: Parts for xenon adjustment
Post by: Thingymabob on 05 June 2014, 18:04:32
I need to replace part numbers 6,7 and 13 for the automatic xenon adjustment system.

9117095 (No. 13) and 90576521 (No. 7) are available at various shops but when it comes to 90576131 (No. 6) it´s getting tricky.
The information I have got from several auto supply stores, is that this item is obsolete and cannot be ordered any longer :(

Any suggestions where I can get this part, preferably new (or used in very good condition)?
Ideally, all three parts should be available from the same place.

It may be a long shot, but Wickes and B&Q carry quite a range of galvanised brackets that might well do for your No. 6?

I'm not sure that Wickes and B&Q have made it to Stockholm  ;) ;)

The parts you need would come with a complete new part from Opel ..... but at a cost.

I'm sure a request in the 'wanted' section would get you want you need though.  :y

Hmm, which complete new part from Opel would this be? ???

I have checked with my local Opel dealer, but they say part No. 90576131 is not available from Opel in Germany any more.

Andy B, you have just told the world that I didn't read the OP's location!   :-[
If all else fails, if the OP details the dimensions of said bracket I'll go to those DIY stores and look for him, and purchase and send, if suitable.

I actually haven't seen the bracket myself (mechanic called and said he had problems getting a new part) but as I understood it, the hole in the bracket is designed to fit the rod (No.13) and that he needed both parts (rod+bracket) in order to carry out a proper repair. If that is the case, it might not be possible to use an ordinary standard bracket? Anyone with "hands on experience" who knows more about this?

the rod ball joints seize and pull the sensor arm off the sensor body with suspension movement. The rod is bolted to the bracket which may not be immediately obvious if its covered in rust and crud.
If it's too far gone and corroded, the rod is the important part to replace, as the simple bracket can be made, if necessary.

I don't recall anything too complex about the bracket other than the precise fit of the hole and the thickness of the material for the rod to nut to fit to. Tbh

Diag here further to the one above, shows the rod nut assembled. It's not particularly compex as far as the bracket goes at least.
